My fitness journey started long before I ever stepped inside a CrossFit gym. It began in elementary school, when I auditioned for a performance group called the Young Ambassadors. We traveled, performed, and even appeared at halftime shows for the Seattle SuperSonics.
Jump rope became my first true athletic passion. My main event in Y.A. was double unders, and I loved the combination of speed, rhythm, and focus it required. At every show, the entire arena would count with me while I would compete against my previous score for a new double under record. One halftime show, I hit my all-time best, 364 consecutive double unders. It’s a moment that still gives me chills.
Like many childhood hobbies, jump rope paused for a while. It wasn’t until I started CrossFit training as an adult in my early 30’s that everything came back. The first time I picked up a rope again, muscle memory took over. My double unders felt natural, and jump rope instantly became my favorite part of every workout.
Around that time, I discovered Double Under Wonder, and their ropes brought the fun and creativity back into my training. I bought a rope, posted a video, and even went viral for doing 225 double unders. But more importantly, I found a community that loves jump rope as much as I do. Which ultimately shaped my decision to be a fitness influencer.
Today, I use jump rope for daily cardio, warm-ups, skill training, and learning new jump rope tricks. It keeps me athletic, energized, and excited to train.
Jump rope isn’t just a workout tool for me, it’s a lifelong skill I plan to keep improving for years to come. And I’m grateful that Double Under Wonder is part of that journey.
