I don't like happy songs in workouts for the same reason they don't have barbershop quartets sing at MMA fights.
Functional fitness training is great for improving your physical health, but the more we know about stress and emotional health, the more we see that the whole darn thing is all connected.
When I have those days where I have to skip a workout, I like to play a game in my head where I make up pretend CrossFit workouts for all the other important stuff I did. Then I feel a little better about not hitting the box...
A funny thing happens when you become a trainer at your box.  You go from being someone's friend, to being the person who occasionally gets avoided like the plague at the grocery store.
